Obama’s Totalitarian Paradise

Barack Obama generally likes the First Amendment, except when he is not happy with what people are saying about him.

Just a few weeks ago, Barack Obama was trying to intimidate TV stations from running a commercial about his relationship with terrorist William Ayers.

And now the Obama campaign is trying to dictate which guests are on the WGN Radio station, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

Chicago radio station WGN-AM is again coming under attack from the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama for offering airtime to a controversial author.

It is the second time in recent weeks the station has been the target of an “Obama Action Wire” alert to supporters of the Illinois Democrat.

Monday night’s target was David Freddoso, who the campaign said was scheduled to be on the station from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Chicago time.

This pattern of attempting to censor should be profoundly disturbing to anybody who values free speech.

Barack Obama Battles the First Amendment

Barack Obama is trying to intimidate TV stations from running a commercial about his relationship with terrorist William Ayers, according to Breitbart.com.

Obama not only aired a response ad to the spot linking him to William Ayers, but he sought to block stations the commercial by warning station managers and asking the Justice Department to intervene. The campaign also planned to compel advertisers to pressure stations that continue to air the anti-Obama commercial.

If the commercial isn’t truthful, why doesn’t he clear the air? These sort of heavy handed tactics to censor information are a bit too reminiscent of the activities taking place recently in China.

Is this what we can expect if Obama is elected President… freedom of speech, unless Obama doesn’t like what’s being said?

Barack Obama: “Friends”

June 14, 2008 · Filed Under Ethics ·

Barack Obama and friends are a sit com, right?

What About Your Friends, Obama?

There is an old saying, “Tell me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who you are.” I think most anybody would say this is a truism, except hysterical Obama supporters.

When you look at some of the friends of Obama, there is Reverend Wright, who got quite a bit of attention for a time.

He’s an unapologetic racist and hate-monger.

And how about some of Barack Obama’s other pals, who haven’t gotten so much attention to date?

There is also Reverend James Meeks, who is a delegate pledged to Obama, and a Pastor with a penchant for racist rants.

William Ayers, 1960s-era radical and leader of the Weather Underground, is also cozy with Obama. Obama doesn’t think this should matter, because he was a wee youngster when Ayers was committing acts of domestic terrorism.

Back in January during a debate, Hillary Clinton mentioned Obama’s friend and renowned Chicago slumlord Tony Rezko.

Who else is out there?

For anybody keeping a tally, Obama’s friends include racist hate mongers, terrorists, and slumlords.

But he’s such an eloquent reader of speeches, so let’s make him President.

Obama and Terrorist Friend William Ayers

The Weather Underground bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol and the New York City Police Headquarters.

The leader of the Weather Underground was 1960s-era radical, William Ayers.

Ayers is also a friend and political campaigner for Barack Obama.

As recounted in the May 26, 2008 issue of The Weekly Standard

At the Philadelphia presidential debate in April, George Stephanopoulos asked Obama about his relationship with the Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, who with his comrades bombed several government buildings in the 1970s. Obama protested that he knew Ayers as a neighbor and professor of English (actually, he teaches education) whose “detestable acts” when Obama was eight were no reflection on “me and my values.”

But as soon as it was her turn to speak, Obama’s opponent piled on. Ayers and Obama had served together on the board of the Wood Foundation in “a paid directorship position,” noted Clinton. It was legitimate to raise questions about their relationship, she insisted, since Ayers’s bombings had resulted in people’s deaths.

So let me get this straight, if somebody committed terrorism, but it was before they starting hanging out with Obama, it is irrelevant?

OK, just checking.
