Obama Campaign Cuts Off TV Station for Asking Tough Questions

October 25, 2008 · Filed Under Economy, Fiscal, Joe Biden, News · Comments

The Barack Obama campaign reacted swiftly in response to a TV news anchor who dared ask questions to Joe Biden that weren’t the typical softballs Biden and Obama get from CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC.

Watch video of Joe Biden’s first real interview since being tapped as Barack Obama’s running mate.

WFTV-Channel 9’s Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it’s some of the best entertainment he’s seen recently. What do you think?

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama’s comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn’t being a Marxist with the “spreading the wealth” comment.

“Are you joking?” said Biden, who is Obama’s running mate. “No,” West said.

West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America’s days as the world’s leading power were over.

“I don’t know who’s writing your questions,” Biden shot back.

Biden so disliked West’s line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate’s wife.

“This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election,” wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

Ohio Government Employees Snooping on Joe the Plumber

October 25, 2008 · Filed Under News · Comments

Government computers in the state of Ohio were used to find information on Joe the Plumber, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher’s driver’s license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.

Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.

It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver’s license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.

There is an investigation underway to determine if computer systems were accessed illegally in an effort to dig up dirt on Joe the Plumber.

If that turns out to be the case, I’ve got to wonder if George Orwell if the favorite author of Obama supporters.

First, they embrace the sensibilities of “Animal Farm” and now “Nineteen Eighty-Four.”

Joe the Plumber on Barack Obama

October 16, 2008 · Filed Under Economy, Fiscal · Comments

Joe Wurzelbacher aka Joe the Plumber recaps his chat with Barack Obama on how the Obama Tax Plan will impact him as a small business owner.

When interviewed on Your World with Neil Cavuto, Joe the Plumber was asked whether Obama won him over.

Joe the Plumber: “No, not at all. The answer actually scared me even more. He said he wants to distribute wealth, and I’m not trying to make statements here, but that’s kind of a Socialist viewpoint.”

Exactly!

Mark Ambinder of The Atlantic points out that Joe the Plumber is still uncommitted. However, since Joe the Plumber stated that Barack Obama’s tax plan “infuriates me,” I’d imagine he is leaning in one direction.
