Obama Lashes Out at Fox News

October 16, 2008 · Filed Under News ·

There is an article on Barack Obama appearing in the next New York Times Magazine where Obama lashes out against Fox News.

“I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls,” Obama told me. “If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn’t vote for me, right? Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?”

Now, in full disclosure, I watch Fox News, but I’ve never seen Obama characterized as a freak.

But the rest of the description… I am not clear which items he refutes or finds offensive.

Perhaps he doesn’t like the Volvo part, since he was more of a Chrysler 300C type of guy in the past?

Anyhow, I think it is funny that he thinks he’d be 2 or 3 points higher in the polls if there were no Fox News.

With that mindset, I suppose he’d be 20+ points lower if there were no ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, etc.
