No Super Majority for Democrats

The goal by Democrats to achieve a filibuster-proof super majority in the Senate (60 seats) has fallen short with the victory by Georgia Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss yesterday.

Sarah Palin did a good bit of stumping for Senator Chambliss, where she drew large, enthusiastic crowds. So, much to the chagrin of Democrats, the Palin star continues to shine.

The Minnesota Senate race of Norm Coleman or Al Franken is now the only one to remain unresolved.

I would replace chagrin with delight. Democrats are actually hoping she runs in 2012. But I actually don't think she'll end up running. First she needs to decide she will. If that first step is taken, it won't be like last time where McCain just picked her. She first has to actually beat the other Republicans that will be running first, that means debates and such. And then if that happens, then she has to go against Obama. Palin actually fires up more Demorcrats to vote than Republicans. She's not ever going to be President of our country. The Republicans should and I think will have somebody more Center/Right. Not far right.

Nice to see that you've taken the role of speaking for the party.

I didn't say I expected Palin to run for President, but I think there is a decent chance she'll run for Senator.

They tried that a month ago.

I think the party will run somebody more traditionally Republican in 4 years - someone that embodies conservative social stances and libertarian economic policies.

Don't you think that Obama is pretty much starting to go down the right side of the "Highway of Life" and he hasn't even taken office yet ? Pretty cool, huh?
