I Agree with Barack Obama
In terms of many of his policies, I disagree with President-elect Barack Obama, but I do agree wholeheartedly on one thing… the need for playoffs in NCAA division 1 football.
Recently, when he was interviewed on 60 Minutes, Obama said the following…
“If you’ve got a bunch of teams who play throughout the season and many of them have one loss or two losses, there’s no clear, decisive winner. We should be creating a playoff system.”
I’d love to see an eight team playoff bracket, rather than the current BCS structure.
Of course, there is a lot of money on the line with the excessive bowl structure, and I’d imagine many schools would oppose a change.
But it would be nice if they switched over to playoffs.

John McCain gave his concession speech shortly after 11 PM ET and stated, “The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly.”
He also mentioned that he had the privilege to call Barack Obama and congratulate him.
Not the final result half of us hoped for, but it’s now settled and Obama is our 44th President.

Sarah Palin Cleared in Troopergate Probe
Sarah Palin has been vindicated of allegations that she abused her power in office by firing her public safety commissioner while serving as Governor of Alaska, according to the Associated Press.
Palin - running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain - violated no ethics laws, according to a report released by the state personnel board on the eve of Election Day. An earlier, separate investigation by the Legislature found that Palin had abused her office.
It’s nice to see that this partisan smear attempt was unsuccessful.

I’ve got to give this to Barack Obama - he sure is a good salesman.
Despite the reality that his increased spending, promised tax cuts and welfare checks are simply not feasible, he’s sold his story to lots of people who think he’s going to give them a free ride.
One woman, Peggy Joseph, took her daughter out of school early to attend an Obama rally and she couldn’t contain her joy about what would be in store if Obama were to be elected.
“I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he’s going to help me.”
Poor Peggy, she is in for a surprise.
Obama Favors Bankrupting the Coal Industry
Barack Obama stated in an audio clip that coal plants would go bankrupt if he is elected, due to fines imposed for greenhouse gas emissions.
The West Virgina Record reports the coal industry provides about 40,000 direct jobs in the state.
The paper additionally stated that the coal industry pays approximately $70 million in property taxes annually in West Virginia, and the Coal Severance Tax adds about $214 million into West Virginia’s economy.
Let me sort of describe my overall policy.
What I’ve said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there.
I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.
So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.
That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.
The only thing I’ve said with respect to coal, I haven’t been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.
So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.
It’s just that it will bankrupt them.
This quote from Obama could well be the canary in the coal mine that opens the eyes of voters to his plans for our country.

As I get ready to head to church this morning, I couldn’t help wondering where Barack Obama is going to attend church today.
After the American people got a look at Obama’s pastor and spiritual mentor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Obama felt compelled to resign his membership in Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ.
I wonder who he is turning to for spiritual guidance on the final Sunday before election day? Father Michael Pfleger? Reverend James Meeks?
Barack Obama’s Aunt from Kenya is an Illegal Alien
It was reported a couple days ago that Obama’s Auntie Zeituni was living in a Boston slum.
Now the AP is reporting that Zeituni Onyango, Barack Obama’s aunt, who was affectionately described in his memoir, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago.
Auntie Zeituni was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request.
Oh, and she donated $260 to Obama’s campaign. I didn’t know it was legal for non-citizens to make such donations.
So, is that the Obama immigration policy we can expect him to oversee if elected… look the other way and let illegal aliens with a standing deportation order take up space in our public housing system?
What did Barack Obama know and when did he know it about the illegal status of his dear aunt?
