With all of the mainstream media obsession about Sarah Palin and the race to tarnish her image, the objective folks in the media seem to have forgotten about Barack Obama’s spiritual mentor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Obama Quits Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago
The Associated Press reports that Barack Obama has resigned his 20 year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago in the aftermath of inflammatory remarks by his longtime pastor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and more recent fiery remarks at the church by Father Michael Pfleger.
You would never know from the raucous, positive receptions Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger received that their racist, hateful words were anomalies at the Trinity United Church of Christ.

Obama never witnessed such hate speech in the 20 years he was a member of the church.
They must have only conducted such offensive speeches on days he was absent. Yeah, right.

Oprah Winfrey was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ from 1984 to 1986, and she continued to attend off and on into the early to the mid-1990s.
She left for good due in part to some of the sermons of Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

What About Your Friends, Obama?
There is an old saying, “Tell me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who you are.” I think most anybody would say this is a truism, except hysterical Obama supporters.
When you look at some of the friends of Obama, there is Reverend Wright, who got quite a bit of attention for a time.
He’s an unapologetic racist and hate-monger.
And how about some of Barack Obama’s other pals, who haven’t gotten so much attention to date?
There is also Reverend James Meeks, who is a delegate pledged to Obama, and a Pastor with a penchant for racist rants.
William Ayers, 1960s-era radical and leader of the Weather Underground, is also cozy with Obama. Obama doesn’t think this should matter, because he was a wee youngster when Ayers was committing acts of domestic terrorism.
Back in January during a debate, Hillary Clinton mentioned Obama’s friend and renowned Chicago slumlord Tony Rezko.
Who else is out there?
For anybody keeping a tally, Obama’s friends include racist hate mongers, terrorists, and slumlords.
But he’s such an eloquent reader of speeches, so let’s make him President.
The Reverend Wright Mess is Finished
All of that stuff about the racist, hateful Reverend Jeremiah Wright and his association with Barack Obama is over.
You know why? Because that is what supporters of Obama say.
I’m afraid a decades long relationship doesn’t disappear, just because Obama supporters want it to go away.
