Biden Thinks Hillary Would Make a Better Vice President
Barack Obama might be exploring a switcheroo with his vice presidential nominee. What else could explain why Joe Biden said today that Hillary Clinton might have been a better pick for the position than him, according to ABC News.
At a rally in Nashua, N.H., a man in the audience told Biden how glad he was that Obama picked him over Hillary, “not because she’s a woman, but because, look at the things she did in the past.”
“Make no mistake about this,” Biden responded. “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me.
So much for the old can-do spirit.

Pundits all around talked about the impact of Hillary Clinton’s speech today and how an Obama-Clinton ticket would probably have a 10 point bump right now.
The crowd went crazy, and Hillary Clinton’s supporters aren’t sold on Obama.

Does Hillary Want Obama to Win?
Hillary Clinton gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention last night that gave mild praise to Obama and lavish praise for herself.
Many thought she was less than enthusiastic for Obama, and if you look at some of her past words, as chronicled by the AP, it’s not much of a surprise:
Dec. 3, 2007: “So you decide which makes more sense: Entrust our country to someone who is ready on Day One … or to put America in the hands of someone with little national or international experience, who started running for president the day he arrived in the U.S. Senate.”
March 2008. “I know Sen. McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Sen. Obama has a speech he gave in 2002.”
Feb. 23, 2008: “Now, I could stand up here and say, ‘Let’s just get everybody together. Let’s get unified.’ The skies will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect.”
The truth hurts, and the embittered Barack Obama could apparently not get past the comments when searching for a running mate.
MSNBC Hearts Barack Obama
Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell shared an ugly truth about the mainstream media and their affections for Barack Obama yesterday in Denver, according to Politico.com.
While Governor Rendell was supposed to give closing remarks during a panel discussion with the three Sunday show moderators, NBC’s Tom Brokaw, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and CBS’s Bob Schieffer, he shocked the crowd with his candid view of coverage of Obama, and an arm of NBC (aka the National Barack Channel):
“Ladies and gentleman, the coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing. It was embarrassing. MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign… Chris Matthews loses his impartiality when he talks about the Clintons.”
Ed Rendell was a strong supporter of Hillary Rodham during the primaries. So much for unity.
Hillary Ignored as an Obama VP Prospect?
Obama mentioned a few weeks ago on “Meet the Press” that Hillary Clinton “would be on anybody’s short list” as a potential Vice-President.
And that makes sense, since Hillary got about half of the votes in the Democratic primaries. She clearly has a passionate base.
But Senator Clinton was never even vetted for the position, according to Politico.com.
I suppose it’s not so surprising, since her experience trumps that of Obama.
It will be interesting to hear what Hillary has to say (or not say) at the convention.

The PUMA political action committee is urging delegates to stick by Hillary Clinton and cast their votes for her at the Democratic nominating convention.
The thinking is that this would unify a divided party.
I wonder if this will happen, or if Obama’s ego will get in the way?
The Obama Theme by Ludacris
Rapper Ludacris, who Barack Obama likes to listen to on his iPod, has a new ditty called “Politics: Obama Is Here,” where he lashes out at Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and President Bush.
Very progressive and artistic lyrics referring to Hillary as a bit** and Bush as mentally handicapped, as well as musing “McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed.”

Is Hillary Clinton really committed to getting Barack Obama elected in 2008?
Some folks are wondering otherwise with a domain that was registered on June 10, 2008: hrc2012.com
The domain was registered by a company called The Markham Group that bills itself as “a full-service consulting firm serving political, public sector and corporate clients”.

Patti Solis Doyle Joins Team Obama
There is an interesting post in the American Thinker Blog about the hiring of Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle.
According to the New York Observer, a “political insider” was quoted as saying it was the biggest “F**k you” he’s ever seen in politics.
I wonder what the strategy was behind this hire? An attempt to woo the women and/or Hispanic voters?
If so, it’s sort of unusual, since it seems to be serving to do no more than stoke the flames of animosity between the Clinton and Obama camps.
Recall that Patti Solis Doyle was fired from the Clinton team earlier this year and blamed for strategic errors in the early primaries.
Whatever the reason, it’s a weird move. It alienates Hillary and they are bringing on somebody who was fired for her performance.
