Barack Obama Flip Flops
Barack Obama has been in Hawaii for the past week, and he definitely remembered to pack the flip flops.
I came across an entertaining recap of some of Obama’s recent flip flops.
While Obama has been ranked as the most liberal Senator, he’s been feverishly moving towards the center to play the same old politics and appeal to the biggest crowd possible.
Some of his conflicting positions have been whether or not Obama is going to bring home the troops in 2009, gun restrictions, faith-based initiatives, and the FISA bill.
Obama is the David Hasselhoff of Politics
You may be wondering what Barack Obama and David Hasselhoff have in common. Well, the Hoff is undoubtedly a better driver and lifeguard, but it might be a draw when it comes to singing.
Anyhow, they’re both huge in Germany, and they each have made dubious contributions to the U.S.
Today, Obama drew cheers during his field trip to Germany where he pronounced, “‘I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen — a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.”
But while he takes that stance in front of the Germans, Barack Obama is strictly a candidate when it comes to dealing with his fellow Americans.
Sen. Barack Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a campaign-funded journey.
The spokesman, Robert Gibbs, said Thursday that Obama made his decision out of respect for the servicemen and women.
Inappropriate to squeeze time in his tour to visit wounded troops?
Barack Obama thinks it’s inappropriate to visit the wounded armed forces out of respect for them?
I would hope “a proud citizen of the United States” would want to visit our troops.
Disgusting. Offensive. Expected.
Obama: Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s
There he goes again, that silly Barack Obama.
While speaking to the press yesterday in Amman, Jordan, Obama meant to convey that the United States would continue to strongly support Israel.
But he seemed to get mixed up when he articulated it:
“Well let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s.”
Maybe the script from Obama’s 300 foreign policy advisors had a typo?
According to the Seattle Times, aides said he had intended to say that the United States was a strong friend of Israel.
What will the confused, gaffe-prone Obama say next?
Obama to Repeal 22nd Amendment?
This past weekend on Face the Nation, Barack Obama explained why he is traveling through the Middle East and Europe…
“The objective of this trip was to have substantive discussions with people like President Karzai or Prime Minister Maliki or President Sarkozy or others who I expect to be dealing with over the next eight to 10 years.
And it’s important for me to have a relationship with them early, that I start listening to them now, getting a sense of what their interests and concerns are.”
Eight to 10 years, Obama? Let me see here… a U.S. President serves a term of four years and they can be re-elected just once.
4 + 4 = 8
That’s the rule according to the Twenty-second Amendment (Amendment XXII) of the United States Constitution, at least, which sets a term limit for the President of the United States.
Maybe Obama hopes he can change that silly rule, or even more alarming is the prospect that he is not aware of the 22nd Amendment.
I would suggest that Obama take one of his 300 foreign policy advisors and assign them to helping him brush up on the Constitution.

Will Obama Acknowledge the Yellowcake Uranium?
Back on November 22, 2005, Barack Obama gave a speech at the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations about the Bush administration claims that Iraq wanted to acquire yellowcake uranium for use with nuclear weapons.
“The President told the American people about Iraqi attempts to acquire yellow cake during the State of the Union. The Vice-President made statements on national television expressing certainty about Iraq’s nuclear weapons programs. Secretary Rice used the words “mushroom cloud” over and over again.
We know now that even at the time these unequivocal statements were made, intelligence assessments existed that contradicted these claims. Analysis from the CIA and State Department was summarily dismissed when it did not help the Administration make the case for war.”
Well, it’s been a week since the AP broke the news, “US removes uranium from Iraq,” but I can’t seem to find a mea culpa from Obama in the media.
According to the AP story…
“The removal of 550 metric tons of “yellowcake” - the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment - was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.”
Pretty significant in light of Obama’s comment back then.
If Barack would simply admit he was wrong, that would be some change I could believe in.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Obama: “Nein”
John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton have spoken on the square in front of Brandenburg Gate in Germany.
Barack Obama would like to be the first presumptive party nominee to do the same.
But that’s not going to happen if German Chancellor Angela Merkel has anything to say about it.
She referred to the request by Barack Obama to give a speech before the Brandenburg Gate as “inappropriate”, according to her deputy spokesman.
“It is unusual to do electioneering abroad. It is unusual to hold election rallies abroad. No German candidate for high office would even think of using the National Mall (in Washington) or Red Square in Moscow for a rally because it would not be seen as appropriate,” stated spokesman Thomas Steg.
Indeed.
Obama Rewrites U.S. Foreign Policy
Barack Obama is already blazing a trail with his foreign policy efforts, as he proclaimed, “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”
This was a blunder of multiple levels. As he promised U.S. support for Israel’s claims to all of Jerusalem, Obama not only offended the world’s 325 million Arabs and 1.5 billion Muslims, but he also changed U.S. foreign policy of six decades.
In promising U.S. support of Israel’s claims to all of Jerusalem, Obama couldn’t have picked a better way to offend the world’s 325 million Arabs and 1.5 billion Muslims. Israel’s 41-year stewardship of the Holy City has alarmed Muslims from Morocco to Malaysia. Upon seizing East Jerusalem in 1967, Israel razed the ancient Muslim Maghribi quarter to make room for Jewish worshipers at the Western Wall. Since 1991, Israel has steadily ratcheted down Palestinians’ access to Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Most West Bank Palestinians can no longer worship there.
Obama’s unnecessary promise deviates from nearly six decades of U.S. foreign policy that held Jerusalem to be occupied territory under international law. This long tradition was first broken in 2004 when President Bush acknowledged Israel’s demands to keep its illegal West Bank settlements in a final peace agreement, including those around Jerusalem. Thus Obama, a Harvard-trained lawyer, would both scorn the international legal system’s foundational principle - the inadmissibility of territorial acquisition by war - and echo President Bush, whose failed Middle East policies he has rightly deplored.

Haditha Marine Found Not Guilty
Earlier this week a military jury acquitted a Camp Pendleton officer accused of trying to cover up the killings of 24 men, women and children in Haditha, Iraq.
If you recall back in 2005, there was an abundance of coverage of the reportedly unprovoked killing of two dozen Iraqis by a small number of Marines in Haditha, Iraq.
Leading the outrage was former Marine and Pennsylvania congressman John Murtha, who stated that his sourced inside the military told him “there was no firefight, there was no IED (improvised explosive device) that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood.”
When Barack Obama was asked about the situation, he stated “I would never second guess John Murtha … I think he’s somebody who knows of which he speaks.”
Maybe you should second guess somebody when they are condemning U.S. Marines and you don’t know the details.
Anyhow, over the past couple of years, charges have been dropped and the Marines have been acquitted one by one in this case. The latest was 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson.
John Murtha doesn’t know what he speaks, and neither does his puppet, Obama.
You’d think they would have given these guys the benefit of the doubt. Failing that, how about a public apology now?

Elect Obama for a Second Term of Jimmy Carter
Democrats are constantly parroting their party line that McCain would be the equivalent of a third term for President Bush.
While McCain is markedly different from Bush in a wide assortment of ways, such as global warming, spending cuts and the estate tax, it is hard to look at Obama without seeing the peanut farmer from Georgia.
Obama supporters prefer to liken Obama to JFK. I wish. JFK was a hawk that supported tax cuts.
Some “Change We Can Believe In” like Obama’s “windfall profits tax”? How did that go during the Carter administration?
Obama runs around with his “tax cuts for the wealthy.” Check, another Carterism.
Obama thinks he can chat up the leaders of our enemies and work his magic. How did that Iran thing work out, Jimmy? There was the famous kiss between Carter and Brezhnev. Besides creeping out Leonid, what did Jimmy accomplish there?
Obama pledges to stop the research and deployment of a missile defense. Carter had the same grand idea. Reagan created the system and ended the Cold War.
Carteresque policies that Obama champions amounted to raised unemployment rates, interest rates and inflation rates into the double digits back in the 1970s.
Second verse, same as the first. Obama promises “change” to once again measuring things with a “Misery Index” and a country in a “malaise”.
Welcome Back, Carter.
Methinks Obama Doth Protest Too Much
Obama continues to make a fuss about the speech from President Bush last week in Israel.
President Bush said, “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.”
I don’t see a reference to Obama or Democrats in those words, but Obama sure did.
Apparently, Senator Obama sees the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea as “terrorists and radicals”, because he agreed to meet with those folks “without preconditions” (based on comments he made in a debate in Charleston, SC on 7/23/07), and he read Bush’s words as a criticism of this plan.
Barack Obama called the Bush remarks “appalling” and “divisive” and presented himself as a victim.
“He accused me and other Democrats of wanting to negotiate with terrorists, and said we were appeasers. No different from people that appeased Adolf Hitler.”
Let’s be clear here. Bush never cited Obama or anybody else by name.
I would think Obama would also be averse to negotiations with terrorists and radicals, right?
