Hillary Clinton Suspends Her Presidential Campaign

June 7, 2008 · Filed Under Hillary Clinton ·

Hillary Clinton has decided to suspend her campaign to be President of the United States.

She also encouraged supporters to rally behind Barack Obama.

“The way to continue our fight now to accomplish the goals for which we stand is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama, the next president of the United States,” stated Clinton.

But what does this all mean?

It means she is no longer spending money, but the ball is still in play.

She retains her delegates to the nominating convention this summer, and she is able to continue raising money.

Additionally, Hillary Clinton could also reopen her campaign if anything changes, such as a big revelation about Obama, before the Denver convention.

Then again, she could just be planning to force his hand into giving her the Vice President slot.

Does Obama have the courage and conviction to resist?
